Tweets for Eats is a Calgary-wide scavenger hunt for teams of up to four, with prizes to the winners. Proceeds from team registration and other donations will be to the benefit of Calgary Meals on Wheels.
Like any roaming scavenger hunt, teams will endeavour to obtain as many points as possible by gathering items (which will include both physical items as well as photographs of certain places, things, and events) and returning to the check-in point before the deadline. Those teams which accumulate the greatest number of points will win prizes!
There will also be an after-party where the participants will gather to learn the winners of the day’s hunt, share stories and laughter with other teams about the various comedies the day’s events saw, as well as enjoy some beverages and—should you be so inclined—dance the night away.
Hunt Day
On Hunt Day, teams will gather between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. to register their team and sign waiver forms. At 11:00 a.m., teams will receive a copy of the as-yet top secret list of T4E scavenger hunt items. During the ensuing 5 hours, your team’s job will be to acquire as many of the items as possible in order to accumulate the greatest number of points. Some items are easy, and some items will be very challenging! The items will have a point value reflective of their comparative difficulty.
In addition, throughout the day, “bonus items” that are not on the hunt list will be Tweeted from @Tweets4EatsYYC. These bonus items are a little different! In some cases, these will be physical items. These will be unique items that only one team can acquire, and thus, for which only one team can get the points. In other cases, the item will be a photograph. The first team to Tweet back the correct photo will get the points!
The Hunt will go ahead, rain or shine!
